Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

MAYA Pattaya Taxi is a private car transfer service operating in Pattaya, Chonburi and across Thailand. This policy covers the website www.mayapattayataxi.com and the bookings we take through it, by WhatsApp, by LINE, by email and by phone.

We are the data controller for the information described below. You can reach us any time at mayapattayataxi@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

When you send the booking form, or contact us on WhatsApp, LINE, email or phone, we receive:

Your name — so the driver can identify you at the meeting point.
Your phone number or WhatsApp number — so the driver can reach you on the day.
Your email address — only if you type one; we use it to reply.
Trip details — pick-up point, destination, date, time, number of passengers, luggage, flight number and any note you add.

The booking form has no field for card numbers, bank details or identity documents, and you should never send those to us by message. Payment is made directly to the driver.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records basic technical information so we can see that it is working and how visitors find us:

A random visitor number stored in a cookie, so repeat visits are not counted twice. It is not linked to your name.
Device type and browser (for example “mobile, Chrome”).
Approximate country, worked out from your IP address.
Which page you were on and which contact button you pressed (WhatsApp, LINE, phone or email).
Where you arrived from — a search engine, an advertisement, or another website.
Your IP address, and only at the moment you press a contact button, so we can tell a repeat enquiry from a new one.

We do not record what you type, we do not use session replay, and we do not track you across other websites.

3. Why we use it

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not build advertising profiles.

4. Who sees your information

Your booking details are seen by our own staff and by the driver assigned to your trip. Beyond that, information is handled by a small number of service providers who act on our instructions:

Our web host — stores the website and the visit statistics on a server.
Email provider — delivers your booking to our inbox at mayapattayataxi@gmail.com.
Telegram — we receive an instant alert of a new booking so that somebody answers you quickly. The alert contains the same details you typed into the form.
Google — if you arrived from a Google advertisement, Google is told that a booking was completed. Google is not told your name, your phone number or your email address.
IP location lookup — the IP address of a click is checked once against a public lookup service to find the country. Nothing else is sent.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We will disclose information if we are legally required to do so, for example by a court order or a lawful request from the Thai authorities.

Some of these providers operate servers outside Thailand. Where that happens, your information is transferred under the provider’s own safeguards and used only for the purpose described above.

5. Cookies

This website uses a small number of first-party cookies. None of them are advertising cookies, and none are shared with third parties.

You can delete or block these cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work; we will simply count your visit as a new one each time.

6. How long we keep it

Booking enquiries — kept in our email inbox and Telegram history for as long as we need them for the trip, our accounts and any dispute. Booking details are not stored in a website database.
Visit and click statistics — deleted automatically after 183 days (about 6 months).
The short public list of recent trips shown on our home page — route, vehicle and time only, with no name and no contact details, removed after 90 days.

7. Your rights

Under Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) — and under the GDPR if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom — you may ask us to:

tell you what information we hold about you;
correct anything that is wrong;
delete your information, where we are not required to keep it;
stop using your information for a particular purpose;
send you a copy of what you gave us;
withdraw a consent you gave us earlier.

Write to mayapattayataxi@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. There is no charge. If you are not satisfied with our answer you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Committee of Thailand, or to the data protection authority in your own country.

8. Children

This website is meant for adults booking travel. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. Children travel with us as passengers, and the only detail we ask for is the number of child seats needed — a booking is always made by an adult.

9. Security

The website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to the booking inbox and to the statistics page is password protected and limited to our own staff. No system is perfect, but we keep the amount of information we hold deliberately small, which is the most effective protection we can give you.

10. Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Any change applies from the day it is published.
